Normalizing Normal Skin

You never see common skin conditions such as acne, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, or stretch marks shown in the media. But these skin conditions are perfectly normal. 

Members of the body positivity movement are starting to show unedited images of their skin to empower others to embrace all skin types. Here are some images from artist Peter DeVito that question beauty standards imposed by the media and normalize images of different skin types.

Acne is associated with teens, however studies show about half of adults have persistent acne.

Roughly 80 percent of Americans have stretch marks. We prefer to call them tiger stripes. 🐯
